Thanks to everyone who participated last saturday october 8^th and helped make an incredible and inspiring conference by Florian Leonhard.

Florian Leonhard, the London-based fine violin expert and maker presented his new book "The Makers of Central Italy", which was released this autumn.

This thoroughly researched publication covers the little understood and previously under researched Marche and Umbria makers of Central Italy. From the doctor who made instruments in his spare time, to the exceptional work of masters such as Postacchini, this publication showcases 60 reference examples by 30 makers, supported by over ten years of painstaking research. Florian Leonhard's aim is to improve knowledge and understanding of these important Italian makers, by the explanation of stylistic idiosyncrasies and freshly researched biographical information.

Violinist Francesca Dego accompanied on piano by Jan Lisiecki presented some of the violins featured in the publication. Prior to this conference breakfast was served in Meunier room among musicians and Florian himself.

The event took place at the Hulencourt Golf Club outside Waterloo in Belgium in frame of Hulencourt Art Project Festival.
